Airbnb Icons: The Colosseum

We travelled to Rome to deliver Airbnb Icons: The Colosseum — a once-in-a-lifetime production inside one of the most iconic landmarks in the world. Filming in the real Colosseum brought a scale and atmosphere you simply can’t replicate. From sweeping drone shots over ancient stone to gladiators stepping into the arena, every frame carried the weight of history.

Working alongside Toy and Robin, who led the set design, we provided full camera services and lighting for the shoot. The challenge was balancing cinematic ambition with the realities of filming in a protected historic site. Every movement, setup and lighting decision had to respect the space while still delivering a bold, immersive visual experience.

The result is a piece that feels epic in scale and authentic in texture — a modern production set against a 2,000-year-old backdrop. Not a studio recreation. The real arena. The real Colosseum.
